Get a free iPod
Yes, this works. It was published in this month’s Wired Magazine. Evidentally this marketing company gets a bounty for every sign-up, so they split the money with you by buying you an iPod. Since pop-up ads aren’t working anymore, they needed to find some other way to get your attention. Well, they got mine. 😉
Make sure you follow the directions carefully, it seems that lots of people don’t get their ipods becuase they forget a step or two.
Using IE (You must use IE due to all the cookies and tracking they’re doing), go to this site with this link and sign up. Since you have to complete at least one promo, it seems that the least painful of the promos to complete is the GM card, which gives you instant feedback on whether or not you’re accepted.
More details below
Some basic requirements
- You must live in the U.S.
- You may need to be 18 or older
- You may need a credit card, phone bill, or checking account.
To receive your iPod
- Click the referral link (Here it is again) and put in an email and mailing address (for them to send the iPod to)
- There’s a marketing survey
- Make sure you have verified your email address. If you did not receive an email go to the My Account page and click the link to send the verification email. (There have been problems reported using hotmail addresses)
- Sign up with one of their partners and complete an offer. Skip down to see instructions on the different options for completing offers. (It can take up to a few days for the offer completion status to reflect on your account)
- Refer 5 friends and have them complete 1 of the offers each
- Wait for your iPod to ship =)
When signing up and completing offers, always use Internet Explorer. Free iPods is not compatible with Firefox, or any other browser (to my knowledge). Sorry guys, thats just the way it is. [NOTE: There have been reports that the site is now functioning properly with Firefox. Your mileage may vary!] [NOTE 2: I recently received an email from someone who referred a pair of friends who used Opera. They signed up for an offer but did not get credit because of their browser. Word to the wise: USE IE!]
