Bargain Wines
My high-school buddy, Kevin, and his wife, Danna, have been experimenting with some new wines… lots of them are pretty inexpensive – including a 5 dollar bottle (yikes).
Looking for a bagin on wine check out the following
(prices from Spec’s):
LESEC COTES DU RHONE RASTEAU 750ML $14.49
1999 [FRANCE]
(We love this wine!! It taste like a $40 or $50 bottle
of wine. This wine has a great blend of grapes that
really complement each other including Shiraz. The
1999 and 2000 years are well worth a try. The 2001
which has recently came out is about $10 more.)
MC PHERSON SEMILLON/CHARDONNAY 750ML $4.83
1999 [AUSTRALIA]
(we tried this one and it was really good. It is
unoaked so you don’t have that extreme oaky flavor
over powering the grape as in most cheaper American
made Chardonnay. It was dry enought to drink with a
meal but not to dry because it has another grape
(Semillon) mixed with it. For $5 dollars it is well
worth a try. We also got a couple of the following
that we have yet to try)
MC PHERSON CHARDONNAY 2000 1.5L
$8.31[AUSTRALIA]
MC PHERSON SHIRAZ 2000 [AUSTRALIA] 1.5L $8.31
MC PHERSON SHIRAZ 1999 [AUSTRALIA] 750ML $4.83
MC PHERSON SHIRAZ/CABERNET 750ML $4.83
1999 [AUSTRALIA]
If any of you have any suggestions please let me know
We have the wine chiller full at the moment but we are
always willing to try a new wine (unless it has White
Zinfandel in the name 😉
