We are writing to inform you of a problem affecting your 1&1 Exchange account. Currently your Exchange service may be inaccessible or you may be suffering delays in receiving or sending e-mail.
As of yesterday evening, one of our Exchange backend servers carrying mail databases for usage with Outlook Web Access (OWA), Outlook and Activesync suffered a failure. An immediate restoration of affected Exchange accounts was initiated and is currently being undertaken. This is expected to take another several hours while Exchange accounts are gradually brought back online.
You should be able to log in to your Exchange account and access your information soon. However, until the entire restoration process is completed, you will be unable to receive incoming e-mail. Your new messages have been queued and will be delivered as normal to your account as soon as all Exchange accounts have been restored. You may also experience some delays in sending e-mail messages from your Exchange account, but once your account is available, all of your data will be restored.
You will receive a notification from us once your account is fully functional.
We regret any inconvenience caused.
Sincerely,
Your 1&1 Internet Team
